Well, I started yesterday at 4:15PM with a wash and then clayed certain areas such as the hood and rear bumper and spoiler. Followed up with Meguiars NXT 2.0 on the paint and wheels and Armor All Fierce Shine because I was out of Meguiars Hot Shine. Today I took on the interior with Armor All and a vaccum. Like a Mirror
Looks good, I like the tinted windows with your white. Don't you just love the feeling of driving a clean car?
Beautiful job! I will drop mine off on the weekend. What do you charge? My Prius is now three years old and the dash is starting to show it. I was wondering what to use...Armor All?
Well, on the outside i use strictly Meguiars supplies because i can get the Professional and Detailer Lines in bulk for cheaper than in store. On this detail i used Armor All: All Surface but usually i use Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer. This was actually a somewhat dumbed down detail. I am gathering items for my next project. 1998 Honda Accord with some bad scratches and swirls. That's an estimated 6-7 hour job.
The exterior took 2.5 hours, the inside took another hour, and tomorrow i'll be doing the engine compartment and removing the wheels and getting behind them. Nope, all solo.
Looks like brand new! I clean my engine bay every time I was mine, which pretty much consists of dusting off dirt. I also clean inside the door seals and around the hatch.
Thanks, yup I also do those same areas except I go a step above and wax them as well to protect and shine them up. I also wax my wheels every so often. Makes them so much easier to clean off the little brake dust there is. My friend who is a detailer got me hooked which led to me signing up at Meguiars Online Forum and going to multiple Open Garages. Even had the privilage of working on the 1969 Batmobile Recreation for shows after it ran the Gumball from Florida to LA. I didnt participate in the whole event seein as it was a 10 hour, 2 days job, but I helped with the chrome on the car. Next step, DA Polisher to make this faster so I can start powerin out cars.
I am guilty of not cleaning the engine compartment for like a year! Ok, next summer I will. It is getting cold.
What a terrific job! That's truly amazing. Well done! As for me, I am just waiting for the rain to hit so I can see the wax job bead the water. lol... That's my standard for success. It's a LOW standard, but it's a standard nonetheless. Seriously, nice job.. Dan
Well, the parents are taking it to Arizona tomorrow to save some money because the Camry is currently in service and driving an Infiniti G35 Coupe to Arizona isnt going to be good for the environment or the wallet even with its 24 mpg highway on premium. So, I have the pleasure of beating up, i mean driving, the Infiniti. Its amazing how you can take an offramp with the sign saying 45 at 80 yet the car still holds on and oversteers. This car was bought used and the paint has loads and loads of swirls and little chips, it makes me sick that a car with only 11,000 miles can be this bad.
