So Toyota's cutting back II through V Prius production? In order to eliminate incentives, holdbacks, etc.?
I think there's a limit as to how many hybrid battery packs they are able to produce. The Prius V isn't in production yet, and won't be out till mid to late summer anyway.
They can currently produce 500k per year but announced they were increasing that to 1M. About the same time they announced that they were going to open a battery recycling facility for Japan instead of using 3rd parties. Probably not a coincidence.
I gather I'm 180º off... slow 2010 sales results in fewer dealer requests for 2011s... supply follows demand.
Slow 2010 sales because there are SO few left. At lease in SoCal, that is the case. And, in other parts of the country, they don't hardly have any 2011's while I have some here for 30+ days already....
