I have read many posts about tint how, where , when and color. I hope this question has not been asked. I had the unfortunate luck to have my car in a accident a month after i got it back in Sept and at the body shop they scratched my tint (small window in the back) since I can’t really see it and they deducted that from the bill, I said i will fix it later. Last night a nice person decided to break into my car to take my wife’s purse (before anyone says it i know Wth) well that lead to new window and wasting a lot of money I didn’t want to waste. Now to the question at hand, has anyone in southeast USA been able to match the factory tint which I believe it is southeast Toyota digifilm 32% and if you have please tell me that you know what tint was used or at least the phone number to the store where you got it. I worked in a car audio store for many years and I know a few people in Miami. The good stores have told me they might get close but you can tell the difference. Why would ****** Toyota do this People will get into accidents and nowhere is a good source to do it. FYI I have asked the dealer and they don’t know. If I would have known this I would have had Toyota remove it before I bought it and had it done locally. Thanks for everything i have learned in this forum  and thanks for any help you guys and gals can provide.
2k1 I bought a new glass already Macmaster I thought there was/is, I'm sure if there is after your comment we will find out
Well as the saying goes, "the cheap comes out expensive". It seems you decided to skimp on price and buy aftermarket glass which did not come with the tint and now must find tint to match which won't be easy or even possible. Option B was to just buy OEM glass pre-tinted and be happy from the start but costs more. So now that you have already bought inferior glass, you can either go buy another panel of OEM glass pre-tinted, or search in vain and try to match the OEM tint, which is going to be near impossible. You can probably get it pretty close, and majority people wont notice unless you point it out. Which means you will know every time you look at your car, but passer-by's wont.
That makes no sense. The OEM glass is tinted in the glass ~75%; no film is used. The OP is talking about DigiFilm tint 32% film.
^Ok. thanks 32k. That's what had me confused. Yeah, to the OP - I would say screw Digifilm 32%. Find another aftermarket tint. Your friends say you can tell the difference - I doubt it. Tint is tint and the good brands/installers are competitive enough to stand by their product. I can't imagine the Digistuff is that much better. They make it out of gold particles or something?
32k your correct the factory if even it does come with tint its not what my cars has. 2k1 I could understand what you mean if that was the case but it's not. My car tint was installed after it left the factory but before it got to the dealer. Also a rain storm is on it's way to my neck of the woods. Aside from that I drive around all day and couldnt wait till Monday to get my car fixed as Monday is the day I see the most customers And I thought it was 32 but it's not it's 42% which is a hard color to match because it is so light. Typed from my smart phone sorry for any mistakes
There are aftermarket films that are 40%. My suggestion is to take it to a tint shop. A competent installer should be able to find a film that matches the rest of your interior in color and shade. They do it all the time to match factory privacy glass.
I would go darker than 32%. I'm not sure why you want the same thing especially after how well that tint worked against the thief who went after your wife's purse.
The OP merely wants to find a replacement that matches the rest of his existing tints; he isn't re-doing the whole thing. Don't leave valuables in your car even if you have limo tints.
