We're going on a drive on ferry in a couple of months, and I'm concerned about the alarm tripping if the ferry lurches. The ferry company explicitly asks that car alarms be disabled so as not to cause distress to the staff or to animals being carried on the ferry. I'm seeing not much info about this when I search though. I have a bluetooth OBD2 adapter and Torque if that's the only way to do it.
Just lock the car using the driver's door button to lock all the doors then open the driver's door and get out. This will of course unlock the driver's door, but will not unlock the other doors. Close the driver's door and lock it with the mechanical key that is stowed in the key fob. Locking the car this way will not set the alarm.
