The method for disabling the reverse beeping for previous generations doesn't work on the new/4th generation. Does anyone know the secret? How about disabling the beep from locking/unlocking the car with remote?
I got the Carista app and adapter, which enables you to do that and many other things from your iPhone.
Where do I buy the adapter and is it easy to install myself or I have to get it installed? Any idea on how much it will cost? iPhone ?
Carista OBD2 - Vehicle Diagnostics and Customization | Your car, your way The app is $20 and the adapter is $40. You just load the app, plug the adapter into the OBD port near your left kneecap, and off you go.
John does your carista allow you to modify all the settings in pages 753-758 in the owner's manual? I'm specifically looking to activate the keyfob open of the power windows. Also does it show any other interesting info about the car? thanks.
Jim, ucla107 kindly posted the listing of everything Carista will do on the Gen 4. It's in post # 10 of the following thread: Any carista users on gen 4? | PriusChat It looks as though it will do what you want with the windows. It will also check for codes and cancel them if you want.
Why don't the Toyota engineers read this forum. Beep outside the car so people can run and loud enough you can hear it inside. And an audio saying deaf/blind old man backing up. Run Forest run.
It's listed on their website. Select your vehicle then click on customization sample. I have it and I did: Reverse beep lowered the sound of the parking sensors one notch Turned off the rear seat belts chime so I could put a bag on the backseat without a beep. I left the fronts on since I wear them and they're speed sensitive not timed.
