Proud, new owner here...already learning so much about my new "C". The car in question is a 2013 Canadian model (without the fancy touch screen). Question: Is there a way to switch the stats on the information display from Metric to Imperial? I'd like to be able to switch back and forth, as I drive on both sides of the border.
If you hold the trip button while on the current trip spot it will change your speedometer (****NOTE: IF YOU HOLD THIS WHILE ONE ODO A OR ODO B YOU WILL CLEAR THEM****). You can go into the settings on the information screen and change from mpgs to l/km, but you have to do this while not moving(or as I have found: at speeds less than 5 mph.)
it's under the instrument cluster section of the manual.. specifically under Odometer/trip meter (on page 190.. it's on page 188 for the 2012 manual) where it says under Odometer: "Some models, pressing and holding the “TRIP” switch will switch the display between MPH and km/h." yes.. make sure it's displaying the odometer reading.
This got me too, as I pulled away from the dealer at near 11pm on a Wednesday night. Starting my 40 mile trip home and then realizing...my speedo was reading metric. No real traffic to speak of in order to pace them... I just had to wing it.
that would've been from an incompetent technician who didn't know how to reset your maintenance data.
I did my test drive in a model that was set to km/h and had no idea how to reset it. Apparently the dealer never checked. So confusing.
In my case...it wasn't me. I didn't touch any buttons until I got through the owners manuals the next day. I'm a manual reader....yup, thats me. The sales lady definitely didn't know the Prius C very well and _I_ had to show her several things about the car that I had already researched prior to my test drive. She didn't earn her commission with me, that's for sure.
I did the same thing. My first dealer didn't know anything about the radio, other than that it had HD... I didn't stick around with them too long. They had great donuts and coffee though.
Yea, I had to show her how to do the BT pairing to my phone before I pulled out of the showroom with the car. I let her try and wiggle around for a few moments before I cancelled out of everything she was doing and did it the right way.
