We were driving at night on a rainy, dark twisty road. Wife asked if display could be turned off to see road better. I found the display OFF button (first time since we have had car). Now I can't get it to stay on permanently like it was before. It will light for backup, climate, audio and info buttons but then goes dark again when done. Thought that the DISPLAY OFF button would change to DISPLAY ON but no button exists (silly me, why would that be logical??). Suggestions?
Yeah that caught me the first time too IA. It's like a little one-way trapdoor isn't it! You get the same thing sometimes with certain computer programs, some feature is way easy to turn off and then you spend the rest of your life trying to figure out how to get it back on again. Anyway, just hit the "info" button on right side of the MFD and then select "trip info" from that screen. Your normal display will be back.
Thanks Uart, I am writing that in the notes section in case I do that "100 years" from now and forget how to get it back.
I have 2009 Prius and I tried to see what screen off button does do on the display. so i pressed it down and i could not turn my screen back on . any advice.
Press the "Info" button (the physical one on the bezel) then press the "Trip Information" on the screen. You're not the first person to do that.
