Do I have to file 6251?

    Do I have to file form 6251 if I do not owe alternative minimum tax?

    Only if you want to claim the credit on form 8910. The program at www.taxact.com completed the forms automatically (and free). Form 6251 is used to calculated your TMT (tentative minimum tax).
