I've still got my casio scientific calculator since 1987. 21 years later, it still works as if it were new. Hell, the light from my LCD computer screen is enough to power the calculator. This is really an amazing piece of equipment. For 29.99 the thing does mathematical computations that no human could do with the same speed and has lasted 21 years. I suspect, my child will be able to use it when he's in high school in 12 years. Just my 2 cents.

    Yes.
They can become fine paperweights when they finally stop performing as calculators.

In the distant (hopefully) future, as the sun goes nova, the calculator will become self-aware and discover the "Answer To Everything". Sadly, that will only be a nanosecond.

I still have a Texas Instruments solar powered calculator that I bought in the early 80's. You just can't kill the thing! :hail:

My mom has an ancient solar powered calculator, I have no idea how old it is, but it just won't die also.

I have a potato chip powered abacus and a beer powered slide rule. Do those count?

Well it depends. Are they organic chips and beer. Also, does it do log rhythmic calculations?
