Hi there, Had a minor bumper repair on my 2007. Second time at this body shop and my last... I hate to have to go back... again... But I just found this part laying in my trunk. Can anyone tell me what it is and whether it really needs to be returned to it's original location? Thanks!
I think the shop forgot to put the part back on before mounting the bumper cover. I think it functions like a channel cover for a flap. When you close the hatch, the air pressure needs to go somewhere. It escapes out thought a "channel/duct," that makes it easier to close the hatch. Ask Steve at Prius hybrids sales and service Scottsburg Indiana they will know where that part belojngs, if it truly came from your Prius.
