So my dogs come with us quite often and aren't particularly rowdy but when we're out of the car, it seems they mus stand on the window ledge at least some times. What genius decided to put a soft plastic cover on the door panels? I've got two places where their claws must have caught the material. It's not ripped but noticeable that something happened. Does anyone have any ideas how I can prevent this moving forward (short of leaving the dogs at home of course)? Does the door panel come apart so I can get it upholstered with fabric perhaps? Anyone else have this issue?
In my search for a dog barrier for my v, I saw some door covers advertised. They seem like a cool idea and will likely order them along with whatever barrier I end up buying.
Thanks. that would work for the back doors and may come in handy. Unfortunately, I'm looking for a solution for the front doors and that would have to be reinstalled every time I left them in the car.
I don't think you'll find a product that is intended to be permanent. There are no dog-proof cars out there. It was funny that you complained about the soft plastic - there are many more complaints that auto makers are using too much hard plastic these days. I'm sure you can have the door panels removed to replace the cover with a more appropriate material for your situation.
I use a pet hammock in the back seat. If the doors are getting harmed would something like this help? Dog Door Shields - Best Price & Reviews for Dog Car Door Protectors from Canine Covers W
