Can anyone help me understand why the dome light in my 2010 IV will not come on when I open the door? It works when I manually switch it to on, but when in the "door" position...nothing.
Open the door and try operating the door switch manually a few times and see if the dome light comes on. Also, does the dome light work when you approach the car with the doors locked?
I'm officially an idiot. Running through the tests suggested, nothing was working. Then I noticed there are actually two switches in play. One on the dome light behind the sunroof and one in between the map lights. Once the map light switch was set to "door" instead of "off" all is right with the interior lighting. Wow.
