My passenger door actuator does not work but if i tap it it will work, can it be fix instead of replace?
Do a search here for "lock actuator". You should find a thread where someone detailed the procedure to remove and fix one. IIRC, it wasn't a trivial matter. But dealer cost to fix is rather high.....to the point of being outrageous, I think. When my second one failed.......out of warranty......I traded the car in.
This is what was happening it like as if the motor in the actuator gets stuck (dirty maybe) I took off the complete actuator assembly and open it to take out the little motor and I cleaned the brush and put back everything and it worked, someone from youtube suggested that if the motor gets stuck again replace it with a 20mm flatshaft motor $7 on eBay. For now the clean up has worked.
I recently did this swap. Locking and unlocking the door manually would work for about 2-3 days and then the issue would return. I found the part (do a search on the forum, I added the part number) for ~$35 after shipping. Took me an hour.
