My 2012 Prius Plug-In has a rattle in the drivers door. It is only noticed when I am driving slow in EV, perhaps 25 to 40 mph, with the drivers door window up. Put the window down an inch and it goes away. Warmer weather seems to increase the rattle. I took the car to a Toyota dealer, who said the technician sprayed something on the window seal for a temporary fix. A few days later they put in a new window seal for what they said was a permanent fix. However, the rattle is still there, much the same. Has anyone else had this problem and perhaps know what the problem is so I can tell my Toyota dealer?
Some times seat belt on passenger side rattles against the door panel, makes it sound like its coming from the door, when it really is coming from the seat belt hitting door panel! Just a guess!
I have the same exact issue. You have to just tap the window switch down a fraction of an inch to get that incessant rattling to stop. The whole car rattles like a maraca because it's a Toyota, but that particular rattle is literally right in your ear so it's particularly bothersome.
I took my car to a Toyota dealer and complained again of the rattle in the drivers door. This time they said the door latches were not properly adjusted. The work order said "FOUND STRIKERS TAPPING; ADJUSTED ALL STRIKERS" The rattle was gone when I tested it on the way home. Hopefully the fix is permanent this time.
