Hi..for the past month now my 2011 prius is down shifting for a second or 2 .It pauses then it catches the power..i have 167k on it..any advice?? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
A professional diagnosis will probably be required. If the transmission fluid has never been changed THAT might be a good place to start. And I think it is more likely that something is slipping.......because I don't think they have conventional type "gears". Could be a problem with the TPS (throttle position sensor) too.
welcome! start by making sure you have done all the required toyota maintenance to date, according to your owners manual maintenance schedule. then, move on to things that are not in there like, throttle body and maf sensor, pcv, intake manifold, injectors and etc.
