I chose the LED over the CCFL for brighter and simpler circuit and this one utilize the 54 of 1210 SMD Single-Chip LED Chips at 80 mm diameter. I tapped off the power from the stock little DRL, so that when I turn the stock DRL on, the halo comes on too and at the same time the Philips Daylight Guide DRL will dim. My Philips Daylight Guide is here: Philips DayLightGuide Daytime Running Light | PriusChat Note that the ends of the wires are of T10 bulb type, in case someone want to replace the stock T10 bulb, so just remove the bulb and connect the end in place.
Yes, definitely bright enough! There are similar products with and without covers, different color temperatures, different type and number of LED but it had to be 80 mm. I also ordered the additional covers but they haven't arrived yet. They are for the CCFL but I want to see if they fit for better protection because the rings are NOT water proof. I had to use super glue and silicone to seal the seams.

Anyone getting these would have to retrofit them into the OEM foglight shrouds though because they aren't specific to the Toyota mounting points. These are generic foglights. SCH-I535
I think these LED rings would be better suited to placement inside the headlight housing, around the lowbeam projectors. Especially since they aren't waterproof. SCH-I535
Only if removing the head light is not a major task plus the front clear cover is sealed. I saw a clip someone did that (for other car) and he had to use the heat gun to melt the glue in order to remove the clear cover.
