Changed the oil in my 2010 Prius this morning. I cant believe how easy it was and I'm not a big do it yourselfer. The hardest part was those 3 stupid plugs that hold the plastic shield. Once you get those out its clear sailing. Used Rhino ramps and there was plenty of room. You just have to bend the plastic shield a bit to get it out of the way. Took a total of about 45 minutes and that includes wrestling with the clips.

First oil change at 4400 miles. Used Mobil 1 - 0W-20.

    Bang. Done.

Well done. It is easy to change the oil and I do find those plastic shields pain in the butt but it is better there than not there.

I won't change mine till 10k but I will change my oil filter soon and then just top up. Apparently thats the way to do it according to some test results.

Which results are those? Feels like a whirlwind in here with opinions on early oil changes. :p
