Is there any interest in a 'get together' after the eclipse, Saturday Oct 14? https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2023/where-when/ I'm after a high-plains viewing area to minimize the risk of clouds obstructing the view. But I would enjoy seeing any Native American get together and celebrations. Or Unitarian services on Sunday. My plan is to be in the Albuquerque NM area for the mid-morning eclipse. I will check the weather forecast the day before and adjust as needed. A closer option is Corpus Christi so I can drive by SpaceX and Tesla Austin. So I've added a poll to see if there is any interest in finding a good place to meet and eat. I'm open to suggestions. Bob Wilson
I have prior with a grandchild on the 13th. The 2024 (08 April) eclipse will be more convenient for me - and I saw one in 2017, and a few partials before that one. If I were going to see this one, TX would be the state I would choose for the reasons cited. Too bad elon couldn't get himself disentangled from the regulatory morass that's keeping his rocket tethered to the launch site. 14 October would be an interesting launch date.
