In my 2 month old Prius III, the 'eco' symbol never shows up in the little box above the main HSI display bar regardless of how I'm driving. Do you think this has any significance for car operations, or it is just a flaw in the HSI display of my vehicle? Thanks!
Check the settings... Press DISP until SETTINGS (Press and Hold) shows up. Press and hold DISP. Press DISP until you get to ECO. Press and hold DISP. Ensure that it's ON. Press and hold DISP. Press DISP until you select Exit. Press and hold DISP to exit.
NOT that ECO--I'm talking about the one in the box above the HSI display. It supposedly comes on automatically when you are driving eco-friendly, according to the manual. Mine doesn't. I usually drive in ECO mode. This is not that one.
Maybe the CAN Prius DISP function works differently. When I press DISP, I get contrast and brightness controls, nothing more no matter how long I hold the button.
Ok Sorry just trying out different options. Sometimes some simple things can be be missed. My bad. Anyway, in Power mode you don't ever get the eco to come on but I persume you are not in power mode because you will have to press that every time you start the car. I suggest you take it to your nearest dealer to look at it then. Sorry for not much of a help.
Tideland Prius is talking about the DISP button on the steering wheel that changes the screens on the MFD, not the DISPLAY on the Nav. Try this button and follow his instructions.
Ah ha, of course! Got it. Thanks to both Tideland Prius and jscollins5. It is odd that Toyota would make that indicator an option.
