was finishing off some work from several weeks ago - had dropped bolt on the back of egr assembly and today was putting in replacement also opened the front (facing bumper) assembly to see if there was soot... it spun off and there were some ball bearing things that spinned. i did my best to push the top back but it kept spinning back and i decided to just push it in and bolt it down. now the engine is revving up and down (not too loud) and there is some minor fumes in the engine compartment. wondering if i mistakenly disconnected some hose or something the back or did not reconnect front assembly of egr properly
The black cap is on the egr valve and when sent a signal to move, creates a field that moves the valve. You just spin it down until you can thread the screws. The back stud and nut are important, so make sure they are on and secure. Good luck and keep us posted .
