I own two Prius (2007 and 2010) and have been satisfied. . .But I have developed two problems with the 2010 recently:

    1) the car starts, but I can't shift into drive--the shift handle moves but it won't shift the electronics into drive; it remains in park. After starting/stopping it a couple of times, I can shift into drive. Then several weeks later the problem starts up again.

    2) the both rear windows go down on the their own.

I know both of the above sound goofy. But anybody out there with any of the same problems? Any words of advice?

P.S. I of course went to the dealer and of course the dealer said that they could find nothing wrong.

    Thanks,

    1. Possibly not fully engaging the brake pedal and or not holding it long enough while pressing the power button? The brake switch adjustment is a known issue on the 2010. Do you have a problem disengaging the CC with the brake pedal (jerky)?

    2. If you are not bumping the switches, perhaps the contacts in the switches are corroded causing a false signal?

check your 12v battery or the battery connections. When I disconnected mine, I had difficulty putting it in drive the first time.
