I just posted this in the maintenance thread as well, but since this resulted from a modification I will put it here as well. Not sure if people frequent one topic but not the other. I did the tips for eliminating the reverse beep, but it eliminated the entire gear! No reverse shows up. If I put the car into drive, the R shows on the screen but nothing happens when I select it. I tried repeating the steps, but nothing changed. Searching did not find any reference to something like this. I am hoping someone here can help me. Anne
It won't go into reverse at all. No reverse camera, no reverse gear - and no beep, so I guess that part worked. Someone on the maintenance thread suggested disconnecting the 12-v battery for 5 minutes to reset everything.
You could enter the same code you did to eliminate the reverse beep and it may return to the original with the beep! Worth a try. I did this with the door locks but decided to go back to original and it worked by entering the code again. Hal
