Sorry if this question has been posted previously. I just moved from a 2011 Prius to a new 2013 and its Entune. My 2011 had navigation as well as bluetooth for handsfree phone calls via my iphone. I used the USB port/cable to charge my iphone and occasionally (with a manual switch) to listen to music from my itunes library. Now with Entune, though I still want to use the USB for charging on the go, just plugging in the phone automatically switches audio function to my iphone and its music, forcing me to manually switch back to the radio I've been listening to. I haven't been able to figure out how to disable this function. Does anyone have any ideas?
Charge using the power port instead of the usb? Adapters are really inexpensive, and you can find some that have usb type ports on them too, so you won't need another cord. Another thread here has the OP saying that the radio has static or interference when charging their iPhone through the usb port. SCH-I535
Thanks for your suggestion and the additional thread. I've noticed some interference with the radio since getting the car but I've been listening to a new radio station and didn't put two and two together. Reluctant to have yet another cord in my car so I guess I'll just live with the manual fix as long as the interference doesn't continue. Thanks again!
Get something like this and you won't need another charger cord: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=370530403551 SCH-I535
