BBC News - Electric cars face hazy future due to nuclear crisis Yep ... they're right ... we better just stick with gas until it all runs dry.
That isn't the BBC line! They would be more likely to say invest more in renewables to replace nuclear.
Well, all my electricity today comes from renewables (Ecotricity - the green energy company, supplier and generator of eco electricity and gas) and i'll shortly be having a free roof top solar system installed (ISIS solar - Free solar panels and free electricity) and with a car delivering 99mpg i could afford to pay significantly more for power and still break even, which is what will be happening in the future (so i will be glad of the roof top system!).
Hill - Just saw this, thank you for posting. It is similar to a blog link I posted over on Environmental that made some of the same points (below). I do not know though, sounds like the EV crowd is strong willed. As for me, a plug-in Prius in 2014 sounds good. Until every rooftop is covered in PV and every garden, park and layby has a turbine in it, i don't ever want to hear "renewables can't cover all the demand.....!" again. That vision sounds far more pleasant than a coastline dominated by nuke plants.
