I noticed yesterday that sometimes when I'm driving down a street which is slightly downhill and the ICE is off and I'm coasting that the EV light is sometimes off even when my foot is slightly on the gas pedal. Then, I will remove my foot from the gas, and press the gas again and the EV light will go on when I'm back on 2 bars of charge. Seems like nothing has really changed. I guess what I'm saying is sometimes I seem to coast and the EV light doesn't come on in the power display. Other times I'm coasting and the EV light comes on. Can anyone shed some light on what's going on? or maybe I'm just confused.
If your current mileage is displayed as 99.9, does it matter? I see the same thing, even when the system is warm. Sometimes I have to let completely off to trigger EV mode, sometimes it has a mind of fits own. I'm operating under the assumption that the system is smarter than me. One situation when the ICE will remain on is when cooling is called for in the various systems, there are other situations too.
