Hello guys, I have an idea, i drive at work a Toyota Auris Hybrid (European model) that when the engine stops, a light on the center dash lights up and tells you that now you are running only on electric mode it is the light "EV". I was wondering, hence the EV light is a switch on my Prius Gen 2 and a light is coming up the dash when ON, can I do something that when the engine stops whilst driving that light on the dash can light up as in my 2017 Auris model? Thanks
No, no easy way. Of course you could build a circuit that would light up a light when engine is not using fuel. But I don’t really see the need for that light in gen 2. In gen 2 it’s easy enough to feel what the hybrid system is doing to be able to hypermile it without the light.
