Over the twelve months ending in June, the unified budget recorded a deficit of $336 billion, $99 billion less than during the comparable period last year. Both revenues and outlays rose faster than did nominal GDP over this period, but the rise in receipts was especially strong. Even at its lower level, the deficit was still equal to about 2-3/4 percent of nominal GDP." h34r:
