Does anyone know how/where to reattach this? I can’t find any holes to re-fix it into place… It’s not rattling, just looks loose.

The condition of the stabilizer 48812-47020 is quite sad.
Isn't it time to replace it?

Yeah, probably. It’s going in for a service next week. Let’s see if they advise it. That wasn’t the subject of my post though….

Thanks for the part numbers. But, again as per my post subject, where does it attach? Also, I don’t think my shield looks much different to a new one…

    In the picture!
Two mounting points on the top, two holes on the bottom, and SILENTBLOCK (black color), visible in the picture on the other bottom side.
There should be places for mounting on the car body.

It looks attached then. There are no bolts on the passenger side.

Update: my heat shield was only being held on by 1 nut yesterday, so I ripped it off. I won’t be replacing it. It’s going straight in the bin! Could I get any money for it for scrap?

It was, but my question is, will it do any major harm without it? Most likely not.

It keeps the floor of the hatch area from scorching or burning along with any adjacent hoses or wires. Toyota would not have spend money or add weight otherwise.

However many choose not to replace it because of cost reasons and chance it.

Would the surrounding areas get hot enough to scorch and burn? It’s a 2007 Prius after all.

When stopped at a traffic light, a significant portion of the heat from the exhaust pipe heated during the trip will rise up, heating the car body.
Damage to the paintwork is possible, which will lead to corrosion and destruction.

How likely is it? No one can say. The car is yours and the decision is yours.
