Gen 3 Prius 3 My catalytic converter was stolen. I wasn't paying attention, and just bought a new cat. Does anyone know where I can get the exhaust flange that goes from the headers to the cat. Thanks
I should add; I have a full machine shop at my disposal, so even if someone can just give me dimensions, that would be fine
There should be plenty of this stuff at car dumps and auto dismantlers. Catalysts are cut out, and exhaust pipes are of no use to anyone and are free.
Does your question mean the thieves cut through the exhaust manifold to steal the cats? The gen 3 front exhaust pipe starts at that flange, and has (in order) two catalytic converters, an exhaust heat recovery exchanger, and a resonator. Which parts of yours are gone?
If your in Long Beach Ca; it needs to be a Ca compliant CAT. Only two manufacturer's I know of supplies that, other than the dealer. You will not pass your next smog inspection. You'll need to either fix the car correctly or sell it in Nevada, because it will no longer be Ca smog compliant. Just saying..... Do whatever you want..... Good Luck.
Besides the Toyota dealer, there is only Magnaflow. Those ARE the only two allowed, there is no other party with CARB compliance.
Sorry, I don't have the engineering specifications for that flange. It never comes up in conversations because it's a piece of the replacement part. You may want to call around to dealerships near you to see if that part is in stock and if you can look at it and take some measurements. I'm sure it's measurement are off-the-shelf stock. I can't see Toyota re-engineering a simple exhaust flange..... FWIW; I wasn't trying to be difficult, just letting you know that you may have the wrong part and that Ca requirements for EPA smog equipment is very very strict....
