I just took delivery on a new package #3 Seaside Pearl 2006 Prius. This forum was a big help in finding a dealer in the Los Angeles area that would sell a Prius at MRSP. I wanted to add my experience to the accumulating information on dealers. The following dealers would sell a Prius at MSRP. Some required a deposit to get on a waiting list. I have noted specifics: Northridge Toyota – Mike De-Angio. (818-734-5600) Receives 12-20 Prius/month. No deposit. Toyota of Simi Valley – Alex Arabi. (805-526-7500) Receives 6-7/month. No deposit and no waiting list. He just calls interested parties and the first one to show up gets the car. Bought a Seaside Pearl, package #3 about 7 weeks after contacting him. Alex continued to call me with other colors etc. so I knew he was working it. Toyota of Oxnard (805-988-2330) – Gets only 1-2/month for internet MSRP sales. Showroom gets 10 and asks 2-3K more. They have a list and no deposit. Longo Toyota – Joseph Adenihun ([email protected]) (from this forum). Receives 80/month and sells at MSRP. A $500 deposit is required to be on list. Offered a Seaside Pearl, 7 weeks after getting on list but had just signed a contract for one at Toyota of Simi Valley. Toyota of Glendale – Lisa Charles (818-239-3889). Sells at MSRP. They have a short list and no deposit. Never heard from her again. Toyota of Santa Barbara – Hai Le (805-705-4048). Sells at MSRP. They need a deposit of $300 (check not cashed) to get on a list. Receives 20/month. He called several times with a different color so we knew he was trying. South Bay Toyota, Gardena – Carla (310-323-7800). Sells at MSRP. There have a waiting list but now only includes local individuals. They require a $500 deposit. Quality Toyota, Corona – Barbara Marino (800-376-8099). Sells at MRP. Need to send $500 to get on list. Receive 15-20/month. Called several time with different color. Toyota of Hollywood – Daniel Park (866-286-3721). Sells at MSRP. They have a waiting list but need a $2000 refundable deposit to get on the list. (That’s right - $2000). They will only take local individuals now. Miller Toyota, Culver City – Ace Iftikhan (888-741-8127). Sells at MSRP. Need to send $500 deposit and copy of driver’s license to get on waiting list. Toyota of Riverside – Joe Montasser (951-377-2849 x105) They have a list but they call everyone when your desired color comes in and it is first come, first serve. Penske Toyota, Downey – Alvin, Internet Dept (562-904-5600). They have a list but they call everyone on the list and it is first come, first serve. Dealers that do not sell at MSRP: Toyota of North Hollywood – Does not sell at MSRP. Visited and had a very hard sell. They started at $5000 over MSRP. We left when we realized they would not sell at MSRP. But it was worth the visit because we got our first look at our desired colors: Silver Pine Mica and Seaside Pearl. Thousand Oaks Toyota – Does not sell at MSRP. Was willing to “order†the color we wanted but was asking $3000 over MSRP All initial contact was conducted by phone or e-mail. If one is willing to wait, it is a very easy purchase. We got our Prius in 7 weeks and 2 dealers offered the car at that time. I hope that this information helps someone else in the LA area.
