Based on what I read online, I was under the impression that Hybrid batteries were covered for 150,000 miles or 10 years in New York State. However, my dealer stated that this is not the case, and showed me in my 2014 Prius C manual where it stated that NY is not listed in the states that extend the warranty: ''Vehicles equipped with a California Certified Emission Control System that are sold, registered and operated in California or any state that adopts California emission warranty provisions are covered by this warranty. Currently, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington are the other states to which this warranty applies. Vehicles covered by this warranty are also covered by the Federal Emission Control Warranty (see page 17).'' Is this a misprint? I cannot find any official word on this on any of New York State's websites. I did do some further investigation, and discovered that in the regular 2014 Prius's warranty manual, New York IS MENTIONED. Does anybody have any insight to this?
Update: I did find official documentation from NY mentioning the extended warranty. ftp://ftp.dec.ny.gov/dar/library/ris218.pdf The performance and defects warranty period for PZEVs is 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. However, the warranty requirement for the energy storage device used for traction power (such as a battery, ultracapacitor, or other electric storage device) is 10 years or 150,000 miles. I assume the Prius C manual must have a misprint.
According to this link here. The 2014 list of CARB States in the US | PriusChat New York includes the 10/150,000 warranty but not all other CARB warranty provisions. That is likely why it was not listed as a CARB state.
I do not find New York either, but it is on my list of CARB states. If you find it is not covered, let me know in that thread. The 2014 list of CARB States in the US | PriusChat What I do find is "If you have any questions regarding your warranty rights and responsibilities, you should contact the Toyota Customer Experience Center at (800) 331-4331" I sure would.
Unfortunately the Prius C doesn't have the full technology to meet the top tier emissions regs that allow it to qualify for the full 10/150 warranty. It's in the SULEV class but needs the PZEV ranking if I understand things right. Newer models may be different. Yes, I, too, was surprised to find this out.
I checked my CA Warranty booklet and it shows 8/100 for CA. I have a 2012. It looks like I'll be getting me prolong kit soon!

Thanks everybody who replied. Guess it's only 100/8 in all states then. Hopefully the Prius C is as reliable as the regular Prius!
Exactly what my 2012 Booklet shows. 8/100 is the warranty in all states. I'm looking forward to getting 300k+ miles out of my original battery with battery temp management and Prolong HVB management. Hit 100k miles so just broken in and I love to pull with it!
Here is the 2018 Liftback warranty. It is also 8/100. I guess we were used to a good thing lol. https://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/omms-s/T-MMS-18Prius/pdf/T-MMS-18Prius.pdf
Not uncommon . Our 2017 RX450h has a 8/100 warranty. Just depends on how the vehicle is “classified”. But that didn’t stop us from buying.
