Extended Warantee for Toyota Prius

    My husband and I just purchased the 2005 Toyota Prius, we picked it up last night. We did not go with the extended warantee, the dealer wanted $1269.00. Can we get it cheaper somewhere else? Does the Toyota company offer you the extended warantee later on? The dealer told us we have to decide to go with them by the end of this month?

    Any info on this would be much appreciated!

    In short, yes. You can get the extended warranty before the original expires (3yr/36k miles?).

    I paid $1,145 for the 7 year / 75k extended warantee at my dealer.
