My dealer quoted approx. $1500 for extended warranty, but stated it included car rental service and would be in effect for the full 7 years or 100k in addition to the mileage/time it already has been in service. Does the $985 price extend my 2002 warranty to the year 2011 (based on in-service date of 1/10/02) or only until 2009? Which might be better deal?
I think your dealer may be trying to confuse you - the Toyota Extended Service warranty is for 7 years or 100k miles from the in-service date. That doesn't change whether you buy it through our Toyota Financial contact or if you buy it from your dealer. So, the warranty for you would run until 1/10/09 or 100k miles. The Warranty offered by emailing [email protected] is the same one your dealer is talking about - including car rental service and other "perks". If you have anymore questions and would like a Toyota Financial representative to answer them, please email [email protected].
My dealer tried to sell me an extended warranty for $1680 and said that it covered a period of 6 years or 75,000. When I was leaving (without pruchasing the warranty) I was told that I could still purchase it later on but that I'd have to pay $400 to have the car inspected before the extended warranty could be granted. Is there a time and/or mileage limit for the warranty that can be purchased through Prius Chat? Is there an inspection that has to be paid for before the warranty can be granted? On a different but related matter, is there any plan to offer a prepaid maintenace program similiar to the one that some of the dealerships are offering (e.g., 4 year or 55,000 miles for $680)?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(berryman\";p=\"41010)</div> 1680 bucks for 6 years and only 75k is robbery. That's the normal retail price for the full 7 year 100k warranty and the same price I was quoted by a Seattle dealer. I've never heard about a "400 dollar inspection" being required to extend the warranty. Anyone else hear about that? I think your dealer is scamming you. Bob
When I picked up my car at Berlin City Toyota in NH yesterday, they offered me the warranty for $1200. I know Danny has a better price, but at least they weren't scamming me. I turned it down and they didn't push.
