extended warranty worth it, 2010 Prius 70K miles?

    I think my 12V battery maybe dying?, one time had to call toll service and started and drove around and got it recharged one month ago and no more problems (? left inside light on) without changing the battery.

    Live in California is the 12V battery likely gone bad?

    Is the extended warranty worth $1,500 dealers want?

    how long is the warranty for, and what does it cover?

    12v may need replacing, you should check the voltage. you say it's been starting fine since you jumped it a month ago?

    Replace the 12vdc battery on your own, do not use the dealership to do that.

    No, the extended warranty is NOT worth it.

    I have a 2010 with 66,000 miles bought 2 years ago. Just had dealer install new 12 volt batt. for $229. Orig. batt only last about 5 or 6 years in Texas heat. I got the extended warranty from dealer for piece of mind and already save about $1500 on front drive axel assembly that when bad.[/QUOTE]
