OK--new post! For all of you who helped me on my two previous ones: MY car has now outlived its extended warranty. It is a 2008, purchased 09/2007; 19985 miles-- I would like to keep the vehicle at least until the new Gen 4 comes out. This I would think may be in September 2015--as a 2016 model. Would You get a new extended warranty, AND, would you consider an extended warranty from a warrantor OTHER than Toyota? Thanks!
NO, pay for any needed repairs until you get the new one. Save your money towards your down payment! That will make a BIG difference in the amount of your new payments. Put as much money down on the new car as you can. Then finance it for as short of a time as you can. Toyota is offering 0% Interest RIGHT NOW on new Prius for those who have GOOD credit. I know as I just bought a 2013 Model 3 with 7 miles on it (brand new) financed through Toyota. I put 4K down, traded in my old Prius (got 11.5K trade in) left a balance of $11.7K to pay off. Worked out to $326 @ month for 36 months. They also threw in a $500 rebate AND FREE Maintenance for TWO YEARS. Best of luck to you!
