I noticed that my driver side headlight, has a slightly higher aim than the passenger side. I stopped in the driveway of a vacant house and took these pictures. I am used to the DOT projectors to have two level steps, like ______/----------- ______/----------- I know these mutiple projector lamps are probably a different animal. Can other Five owners chime in, is this what you observe, is this normal for the mutiple projector setup?
Okay thanks Paradox. I wonder why they purposely aim the driver side a tad higher (Or passenger side a tad lower)? I know blinding oncoming drivers is a non-issue because they always fall into the little dark dip on the left. Can someone show a shot of the on the wall beam pattern for the halogen projectors? TIA.
Aren't the LED headlights on the Five self leveling? I've never had anyone flash at me because they thought I was running w/the highbeams on yet. IMO- the LED headlights are excellent and one of the best features on the Prius...
The self leving system works for adjusting variations in load on the car. If you stick something heavy in the back the headlights will adjust to compensate for the front end lifting up. They often come adjusted too low from the factory and may require an upward adjustment to DoT levels but they cannot simply adjust themselves to that level.
