It has finally cooled off here in Austin. The automatic AC system insists on blowing hot air at me, even though the outside temperature would be fine. I would like to set the AC system to just use the fan to either recirculate the inside air or, preferably, bring in outside air without heating or cooling it. I turned off AUTO mode, turned off the AC switch and set the mode switch to upper air. The system blows hot air at me. I have tried turning the AC button on or off and the recirculate button on or off, and get the same result. No matter what I do, I get warm air blowing through the vents. Today, the temperature dropped to around 55 degrees, and the system is still blowing warm air. Is there any way to get the system to just circulate air without heating or cooling it? The owner's manual is, of course, no help at all.
Assuming the 2010 is the same as the 2004 in this regard, you have to turn the temperature setting down to below the actual temperature in the car. I'd turn it down to max cold, then, as long as the A/C is off, you'll get unheated air blowing through.
* As stated above, set the Temp to your desired temperature, and the first poster is correct, you must set the Temp BELOW the Outside temperature for Vent air. David (aka Blind Guy)
