Wow, over 20,500 Prius sales US for February which includes the v. I heard Toyota is targeting 220k US in '12 for the family and at that rate, they might make it. Some fodder ... "GM has said it is committed to the car (Volt) and its platform. It remains unclear however the extent to which GM will reach earlier goals of 45,000 North American sales." Yes very good numbers for february. Hybrid plus plug in sales got a 3.3% market share in a growing car market. March is typically a better month, and with gas prices staying high and introduction of the prius c, we can expect it to continue the good news for hybrid sales. I think hybrid cars didn't get the memo. GM has clearly walked away from that forecast. They just won't say what the new number is. It clearly will be much lower unless something really changes, and if that happens like a price drop they will still be lower. The Leaf forecast of 20K leafs this year also looks optimistic.
