On Saturday I did my first "day trip" in my Prius - to and from Cooperstown (BB Hall of Fame), which is about 230 miles each way. The differences in road conditions from my normal commute would be instead of nearly 50% on EV, this was mostly highway and up and down hills so the EV% was only around 7%. Highway speeds tending to be between 65-70, so I wasn't surprised that my fuel economy was around 51 on the way in and 56 on the way home, and I figure that's mostly the differences in altitude. Highest State of Charge on my Scangauge was about 80%. The trip back took us right past Howe Caverns. Guess where the Mrs wants to go next week.....hopefully she'll forget by then.
