Source: BOSS Magazine | Fisker Orbit, New Partnership Announced by Fisker Inc. This is supposed to be a shuttle vehicle. The original Fisker appealed to Bob Lutz enough that he bought some gliders to install Corvette drivetrains. It never really appealed to me because of the faux engine compartment but here it is: I can't explain why but the Fisker shuttle really looks bad to me and I'm not particularly interested in 'sheet metal art.' It would be kind to call it bullet shaped but more accurate to call it a 'Vitamin E' or some sort of suppository. All I can say for me is UGH! Bob Wilson
Sorry, I didn't care for the Fisker and saw one at the 2009 Detroit Autoshow. I thought and still do that Lutz was trying to impress someone else. Bob Wilson
I thought the fisker body was well designed for a low volume high priced luxury touring car. The problem was they did not design the PHEV portion well at all. They wanted what became the bmw i8, but instead got poor performance and did not make up for it with efficiency. They probably wanted to design it with something between the i8 and clarity phev drivetrain, but didn't put in the engineering cycles or quality control when initial production had problems. LOL!!! My first thought when I read the thread title was: "HA! Look who's talking!!!"........but you're right. The Fisker on #1 is pretty homely. FWIW....If somebody forced the choice on me, I would take the Prime > the G4..... Helps that it's cheaper too.
That new Fisker rendering is an autonomous shuttle van. The looks aren't as important for such an offering as for a car marketed to an individual.
Not sure what the big deal is, we currently have vehicles like this now, they are called minivans! It's main purpose is to carry people! This is the future folks. Enjoy!
