Not sure where I should start this discussion but have a need to feel safe again. I was turning into a parking lot with a descending curb and my wheel caught the edge. Before my tire passed completely over the curb my tire was flat, a piece of metal was gouged out of the rim, and the rim and my hubcap were no longer round. This is the wheel and rim carrying the weight of the batteries. The rim is alloy. The tire is some kind of fancy engineering with built in shoulders to hinder flats. Anyone have any opinions on how safe this is?
take it to a tire place and get a professional opinion. i didn't know the v had special tires, all the best!
You curbed the rim. If the rim is broken, it may also be cracked, leaking and structurally compromised. Definitely needs replacing.
