I'm currently sitting (actually more like lying) in the rear passenger seat with my legs completely stretched out over the flattened front seat while my wife is driving down I-80. It's quite comfy! Others doing this? Safe? I see nothing in the manual explicitly prohibiting this. Thoughts?
Sounds comfy. I have done something similar while sitting in a third row seat with the second row seat folded flat in another vehicle. Could you post a pic of your front passanger seat folded flat please?
Yes on the regular Prius (it's a feature since the Gen 2 but I think the Gen 2 does it better than the Gen 3) but I've never done it while driving because it increases the risk of sliding under the seatbelt in a forward collision, does reducing the effect of the seatbelt and increases the likelihood of injury to the lower body (namely the stomach) because the lap belt rides up as you slide under. It's great for chilling out and having lunch though!
I think the view through the moon roof "view" will look awesome from the back seat with my legs stretched out. Check out my pics if this link to my album works: PriusChat Forums - Chazz8's Album: Front seat flat makes for a nice view from back seat
Great idea! I'm all over it...I'll be heading down south on the 26th for a hockey tournament. If I can figure out a way to strap the kids to the hood and convince my wife to drive the whole 400 miles, I too will be kickin' it like Macguyft & Chazz.
This the front seat the Prius should have had. Me thinks I wanna swap the front chairs. edit: Holy crap! Front seats on the Gen 3 does fold flat with rear seats down! Posted in Gen 3 Main Forum.
Yes they do lol. Just not the way most people expect (which is fold flat forward with a hard seat back like the Matrix). It folds backwards like the Fit and you can do "Lounge" mode with that (better with the Gen 2 imo than the Gen 3).
