Hi all I have my Toyota Prius 2010 T Spirit in the Toyota garage for a week and they don't know what to do to my car. Basically a week ago my car wouldn't reconigzed my keys. I can look and unlock the car but I can't get the car running. They told me that it could be the ECU but they are not sure. They also conected the car to a computer and get few codes out and pass these to other toyota expert's. They told me that the keys are erased and they don't understand how this happened. 1. Try putting the keyfob up to the start button (hold it there), then press start. 2. Disconnect the car's 12v for a couple minutes to reset the car. 3. Try changing the keyfob battery. 4. Pray Do those steps in order
Do you have 2 key fobs? If you do, then the probabilities are higher that you have a system malfunction rather that a transmitter that has a depleted battery. Even with that being said, you should replace the batteries in both fobs. It's time anyway. As stated^ you should follow the procedure as outlined.
