2012 Ford Focus Electric: 105 MPGe, 76-Mile Range...10 Sales BY JOHN VOELCKER Mar 9, 2012 2012 Ford Focus Electric: 105 MPGe, 76-Mile Range...10 Sales Home of the Ford Focus Electric: Michigan Assembly Plant Tour - YouTube .
With $7500 federal tax credit + $2500 California tax rebate for a total of $10,000, and access to HOV Lanes, I thought the Focus Electric would be flying of dealer's lot.
Geez I have not been the biggest fan of EV but I like the BEV idea at lower cost. If these things ever start going on sale for deep discount there will be some buying opportunities.
Since they aren't on dealer lots, they can't fly off Consumer launch hasn't happened yet. There are 10 fleet sales. These must be specials Official consumer launch is supposed to be sometime the first half of the year, although rumors say it may be as late as September. I don't think they will fly off, once they are there though. It is more expensive than the leaf with a smaller trunk. Leaf sold less than 500 last month. We should not expect 100s not 1000s of focus evs per month at the launch.
They aren't even fleet sales according to Ford's response(posted link in the other thread) since any sales would be illegal without the EPA sticker. The ten are technically pre-production models shipped out for PR. They probably include press fleet vehicles.
