My previous car I had to manually lock the doors with the key. Now with the Prius C Smart Key System, I am constantly forgetting whether I locked the door or not, especially since the confirmation beep is so quiet. The manual states: "If a door is not opened within approximately 60 seconds after the vehicle is unlocked, the security feature automatically locks the vehicle again" This is under the area where you have unlocked the door with the SKS, so I'm not sure it would pertain to the car auto-unlocking after placing in Park. Does anyone know if the Prius C with SKS auto locks the doors after you walk away and you've forgotten to lock it yourself? Thanks.
I park my Three in a detached garage and I usually lock it, but if I forget to do so it's still unlocked when I come back the next day.
What it is referring to is this: When you walk up to your locked car and grab the door handle. If you get distracted talking to someone and don't open the door in the first 60 seconds, the car will auto-lock itself. This is the only situation that the car will do this.
