I saw a previous post about this but can't find it now so it's probably a repeat. Anyway, hadn't seen a red one with the hubcaps removed and the end caps in and thought it looked pretty nice, so here it is. I can't help wondering why Toyota covers these nice looking wheels with those plastic hub caps unless it's like someone mentioned, it's an attempt to improve aerodynamics. Anyway, I haven't noticed any negative impacts on MPG. Sorry, lighting conditions could be better. Prius by hb1148 posted Oct 21, 2016 at 5:21 PM
I do like the look. But I'm terrified that it will affect the aerodynamics of the car. Besides..... I'm lazy. I'll probably use the covers till I ding one up pretty bad or lose one. In any case, thanks for the photo. It's nice to know that something more attractive his hiding under the plastic.
For some reason when ever I see a Prius (3rd and 4th gen) with out the wheel trim, it reminds me of a Prius taxi. Those trim pieces are always gone on the taxis. So that sorta ruins the look for me
We bought a new car in 1995, and going on past history, I removed the wheel covers - but only on the kerb side. The other driver wasn't so convinced, though. It was like that for a few years till someone wanted to use it as a wedding car - so I put on the brand new, immaculate wheel covers - and they stayed.
