I made a deal for a pkg 3 car for $24000....when I get there, they say oh...its really $27700...we added on leather($1500), extra mile bullshit pkg, sealant pkg.....etc etc....$3700 extra...boy was I pissed.

of course this inormally a dealer that sells them for OVER msrp.

I'll be writing a nice letter to them because I had a $500 deposit on an Insight that gave up to get the Prius.

Oh, they also had a used 2004 Prius with 23k miles on it....[base car looked like]....$23000...they would only go down to $22000...I said "just give me back my trade-in key and let me out of here...I started walking off and said...OH, AND THANKS FOR COMING IN!!"

    damn I hate Houston dealers!

    guess I'm going out of state..A G A I N !

...and THAT is the way to show them. Vote with your wallet. Be sure to print out both of your posts and mail them directly to the Owner of FHT and Toyota central. You can further 'get even' by recruiting other Prius buyers to buy from Champion and specifically not from FHT. MY local dealer made the mistake of bait and switch on me twice before I walked to their competitor and got excellent service. I have send dealer #2 MANY new car buyers and have discouraged the same MANY buyers from not buying locally due to thir mistreatment. He who laughs last, laughs best!

    Hey Bagwell,

Which Fred Haas are you talking about? I had a bad experience with FH Toyota World (I45 @ Louetta Rd), but ended up buying my Prius at FH Toyota Country (SH249 @ Spring Cypress Rd). The salesman at FHTW lied to us about availability of a car on the lot, didn't know anything about the prius, and tried to string us along and sell us options we didn't want.

On the other hand, the salesman at FHTC, Buddy Hadley, was great! He gave us the straight story regarding pricing and expectations for the wait, searched for exactly what we wanted, and traded with another dealership to get it. Unlike the other dealer, Buddy knew the car. He gave me a demo of all the features and options before I left the lot. I already knew about almost everything from reading PriusChat, but it was nice to see it all demonstrated. He even referred someone to me to purchase my old car.

I'm very interested to hear which one you had the bad experience with.
