...If you buy a Chevy Volt or Nissan Leaf and IF you live in a certain region, the government will give you a $1,400 EVSE for free AND pay up to $1,200 for installation costs. The only catch is that they want to monitor how much you charge the vehicle. But your tax dollars will not give you an EVSE if you buy a Prius Plug-in, or if you don't live in the "correct" part of the country. All I can say is... That is a total crock.
I don't think you're missing much, I believe the free EVSE is a Blink charger and by stories I've skimmed at My Nissan Leaf Forum • View forum - Blink and elsewhere on MNL, it's a buggy piece of crap. http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=6513 has at least one person who asked to have it removed. Some have ended up going w/pEEf's http://evseupgrade.com/.
You HAVE to use tricks and pretty lights to lure shoppers to buy an inferior product... Well... unless you give em tax breaks too... then everything will be sold quickly right... Hmmmm... still looks like the Prius sells more than all the rest combined... when will they factor in quality and consumer vetting...
