My parent's 2007 Prius is "totalled", and they have offered that I can have any parts I want off of it before it goes to the junk yard. Which parts should I pull? I have the exact same model (2007 2nd Gen) Prius as my parents. A tree fell on their car overnight in the driveway and damaged enough of the frame that insurance confirms the car is totalled, and they're going to tow it away this weekend. I've already asked them for the floor mats and a couple trim pieces I'm missing, but from your experience, what other parts should I ask them for that would help me because commonly need replacing? I'm in a different state than my parents, so I have to send them a request list, rather than pulling them myself. Thanks in advance for your help!
Welcome to your first post on Prius Chat . Did they ever have any of the following replaced: HV battery Brake actuator If so, I’d ask for those.
Technically you can't strip that thing before it's towed away. The insurance company has to auction that car off. They won't care if you take the floor mats and stuff, but removing a brake actuator and a battery pack would be a big no no. If your parents want, they can probably buy that car back really cheap and make it a convertible
The bone yards by me the G2's are picked clean. There all LKQ yards by me. There smart now and know the value of the battery pack so thats pulled first. Engine /trans next.
