See Attached. This shot was before re-installing the modified (cut out) grill. Why: The purpose is to allow a tie down point up front that doesnt rub on the front bumper for carrying kayaks/longboards/SUPs on the roof. (Search for posts about losing surfboards from roofracks) I already have a 2" hitch out back and will post pics later of some quick tie down points that are 2" steel that comes out a few inches and then some smaller steel tubing that extends up and then out with tie down points that stick out a little in front of the toyota badge on the bonnet in the front and near the rear bumper out back. How: - remove stuff (black aero pieces under front bumper - Weld plate on front of "frame" that the factory tiedown points attach to. - Weld 4" long tube off the plate on both sides - Weld tube across front of car (2 of them) to connect the two sides - Weld receiver hitch between the two tubes If you look closely (bad pic), you can see the two bars, one running above, one below the hitch. As with any car, disconnect the ground wire to the battery (12v battery) before welding.
